Stephen Colbert of "The Colbert Report"
Why:
Colbert is a master interviewer, and his time grilling Commander Steven Lindsey on sex in space and discussing why being an astronaut is a great fallback position was beautifully done. While the initial segment at the Jonson Space Center was enough to see it through to a victory, the additional material on the World Cup didn't hurt it. Also, NASA must invest in space-sex research, which could spawn the next great space race, only this time with, well, sex.
Loser:
Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"
Why:
While Stewart's off-script moments almost moved the tally mark, this episode wasn't as consistent on the laughs as the bits may have suggested. He nailed it with the improvised hand-gesture/spider-doing-push-ups-on-a-mirror thing, but his God fixing the oil spill segment could have been more powerful. I mean, it's God, and he should be able to fix this. Take the man to task. But Stewart did have a more interesting interview in this round, and his genital decoration piece was quite well-done.
Final Tally:
Colbert: 1
Stewart: 0
